Career Highlights
I studied Computer Science B.S. with a focus in UX design and user research. I enjoyed coding and prototyping my ideas, but was driven to make sure the designs were usable and useful for people. From school to first jobs, I lived in Boulder, Colorado where I worked for LEGO and NetDevil. They gave me a taste of international work, sending me to Denmark and England for design workshops and user research (LEGO). I wanted to see more of the world.
In 2012, I made a leap, accepting a job in Wellington, New Zealand (at PikPok). I hadn't been to NZ before and the company wouldn't pay for an on-site interview, but it looked beautiful and I wanted an adventure. It was wonderful. I highly recommend visiting if you have the chance. It's not just a gorgeous place but the people are very nice. I worked on great teams, building award winning projects and, best of all, I met my future wife.
Then we were off to Portland, Oregon, to be back closer to my family. There I went from being an individual contributor to being a Product Design Manager at Cvent. I now live in Seattle, Washington, which was my childhood home to be near family and friends.
